God always seems to use "real life" situations to open up a spiritual truth to me. I was recently diagnosed with a congenital heart defect which needs to be corrected immediately. The surgeon was surprised I was still alive. I believe God has preserved me for such a time as this. In preparing for open heart surgery, God started posing some questions to me regarding my "spiritual" heart condition as well as the spiritual heart condition of today's Christians in general.
