Power of Attorney

Brenda Myree • Spiritual Warfare
For many years, I worked as a paralegal in the area of propate law. I worked with wills, estates, trusts, powers of attorney, etc. While preparing to speak on the topic of The Authority of the Believer, the Lord gave me instructions to prepare a Power of Attorney to show His people some of the things He has instructed us to do in His stead. Read and be empowered!

For many years, I worked as a paralegal.  One area of law I worked in was that of probate.  This, of course, dealt with wills, trusts, estates and powers of attorney.  At one time while preparing to teach on the "Authority of the Believer", the Lord instructed me to prepare a Power of Attorney.

A Power of Attorney is "a written instrument in which the principal (the person giving the power of attorney) authorizes another to act for him or her.  The instrument may be a blanket authorization, or may authorize the agent to represent the principal in one specific transaction.  The person appointed is commonly called an attorney-in-fact."  (Professional Secretary's Encyclopedic Dictionary, Mary A. DeVries, p. 339).  This is just a brief explanation of what a power of attorney is.  There are limited powers of attorney which limits the transactions the agent can perform as well as an irrevocable power of attorney which is one that cannot be revoked.

An example where a power of attorney may be given is when a member of the armed forces is deployed to a foreign country.  The service member may appoint someone, usually a spouse, to act as attorney-in-fact in their stead which means the agent can perform financial transactions, purchase & sell, sign contracts, etc. on behalf of the service member in his or her absence.   I once knew someone who purchased a house and new car in her husband's name while he was deployed to another country for 9 months.  When it came to signing the contracts and financial documents she was able to sign his name just as though she was her husband.  There was no difference.  In this instance, Jesus, our commander and chief has appointed believers (His Bride) as His attorney-in-fact to carry out His will until He returns.  This means you have the right and authority to use His name to perform whatever transactions He has given you the power to do!  Below is the document I, with the help of the Holy Spirit, created.  It has been a help to many people including myself.  Hope it will be a help to you also.

ALL authority, all power of rule in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.  Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you.  (Matt. 28:18-20, Amp.);

I tell you for certain that if you have faith in me, you will do the same things that I am doing; you will do even greater things, now that I am going back to the Father.  (John 14:12, The Contemporary English).

JESUS OF NAZARETH (the Anointed One and His Anointing), the "Principal", herewith appoints whosoever believes as my attorney-in-fact, to act in my place and stead and with the same authority as I, myself, would have to do the following:

I give you the authority (power) to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19, NKJ).

In My name:
You will cast out demons;
You will speak with new tongues;
You will take up serpents; and if you drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt you;
You will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.  (Mark 16:17-18, NKJ).

Whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth will be loosed in heaven.  (Matt. 15:19, Amp.)

And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.  (John 14:13, NKJ).

Whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.  (John 15:16, NKJ).
